About the site:

What is Big Suckie? Big Suckie started out in 1997 as The Big Suckie, a personal website at some random, hidden location of the net devoted to nothing, just animated gifs and overly large graphics from around the web. Later, it became more focused, as a picture archive for stuff I was interested in. As the site matured, so did its purpose. Now the site contains completely original content, all created by me, and has a home--www.bigsuckie.com.

But why 'Big Suckie'? Well, the name comes from something I heard way back when I was in high school chemistry class, something to do with intermolecular forces that act as a 'big suckie'. Simple. Stupid. Catchy.

What's next? I intend to continue creating new music and artwork, and re-work my Star Trek designs. I also plan to start putting up simple software tools that I've made for my own use. I am working on smoothing out the site layout so it no longer use Iframes and it relies on CSS for almost everything.

Technical details:

Big Suckie utilizes cascading style sheets and javascript. The entire site consists of one html and one css file in addition to linked images and music. I primarily use the latest version of Firefox, but any recent browser should at least mostly work.

About Chris Ellison:

I graduated in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree and a Computer Science minor from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.

Currently, I am employed as an Electronics Technician II at Phoenix International (John Deere) in Fargo.

Personal Interests:

A little about myself...I am extremely interested in electronics, especially Audio/Video home electronics, computers, power systems, and data transmission and storage. Computer graphics and music mixed and modified by way of computer software are things that strike my interest and I try to invest time into those areas when I can.

On this website you will find works of computer generated artwork and music (using the artist name Tranceotica) and designs that I have worked on in my leisure time.

Our new home:

We are having our first home built by Eid-Co. Construction began in July and it will be completed in time for our closing date in November.

Tranceotica mp3s are available below as well as at acid planet (search for Tranceotica). Tranceotica is a one-person band. Tracks contain sounds from a 6-string electric guitar, samples, loops, software, and possibly later some vocals or other miscellaneous sounds. Mind Control and The Space are complete and available for download. Printable cover art is also available for both of these albums. As with the mp3s, use right-click and save link/target as.
